FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions...

What happens in inclement weather?

We believe in embracing all that nature has to offer, rain or shine! Our sessions will typically proceed as scheduled regardless of weather conditions. However, the safety and well-being of the members of the Bush Bugs Village is our top priority.

Sessions will only be canceled in the event of a catastrophic fire rating day or in the case of forecasted lightning storms. On such occasions, we prioritize the safety of our participants and staff above all else. You will be notified of any cancellations. â€‹â€‹

Why a shorter term?
Our terms run one week shorter than the school term with the final week of the school term being set aside for a makeup session.

Do you offer make up sessions?

We understand that life can sometimes throw unexpected curveballs, such as illness or other unforeseen circumstances, which may cause your child to miss a session or two during the term. Don't worry! We've got you covered. We offer a makeup session in the final week of the school term for anyone who has missed one or more sessions during the term.

What do I need to bring?

Weather appropriate clothing for you and your child,

A change of clothes (for you and your child) for wet weather play and water play.

Gumboots in wet weather

Hats & Sunscreen if the UV index is 3 or above,

Please note that we do not have a toilet or changing facilities on site, however there is a portable toilet located very close to the carpark.

Can I sign up partway through a term?

Absolutely! If there is still availability in the class you are welcome to join us partway through the term and will only be charged for the remaining weeks of the term. Please contact us on the contact form below or via email (bushbugssa@outlook.com)

How do I get there?

Follow the directions on Google Maps to 185 Brownhill Creek Rd (Apple Maps sometimes has issues finding us)

Our sessions are located near the creek approx 1.5km further down the road than the Brown Creek Caravan Park

There will be signs to guide to you the correct spot

We’re a team of qualified and experienced teachers, with over 30 years of combined expertise in the field of education. As parents of young children ourselves, we’re passionate about nurturing childhood development through nature play. Founded in early 2024, Bush Bugs is a small, family-run business that has grown into a thriving community of families. Each session is thoughtfully crafted to combine our professional knowledge with our love for outdoor learning, creating a little corner of nature where children can explore, connect, and thrive.
